Facebook is by far the most popular social media platform and our guess is that you probably feel the most comfortable using Facebook to market your company over the other social media platforms.
But would you say that you’re comfortable enough that you know all of the ins and outs of effective Facebook marketing?
To help you take your Facebook marketing to the level of a Facebook marketing company, here are 6 hidden Facebook features that you’re DEFINITELY missing out on:
1. The ability to edit a link and description
When you share a link on Facebook, the title and description of the link is automatically generated for you.
However, if you don’t like what is automatically populated for you, you can change it!
To do this, paste the link into your “update status” box.
A title and description will automatically populate the below the link.
Click on the link’s title to change the name. To change the description as well, click on the description field to make your edits.
Once you’re finished editing, you are ready to post the link on Facebook.
2. The ability to invite your email list to like a page
To grow your Facebook following, a smart move would be to invite all of the contacts in your email list to like your Facebook business page.
To do this, go to your admin panel and click on “build audience.”
Then select “invite email contacts” from the drop down menu.
You can then upload a contacts file that you have already put together.
If you have yet to create a contacts file, Facebook offers some clear instructions on how to do this most effectively depending on the email service that you use.
If your users already have a Facebook account, your invitation will appear on the right side of their Facebook newsfeeds as an invitation from your Facebook business page.
If you invite people that are not on Facebook, they’ll simply receive an email suggesting that they join Facebook and like your page.
As you can see, this is a very powerful Facebook marketing tactic for growing your audience.
3. The ability to advertise directly to your web visitors.
Here’s a fact:
Less than 5% of your website traffic will convert on the first visit.
Luckily, Facebook allows you to advertise directly to those already to those who have visited your website.
This is called retargeting advertising.
Your website visitors are the most interested in what you have to offer because they already have context with your business.

4. The ability to use Audience Insights to understand the demographics of your fans
Make social media marketing easy by taking advantage of Audience Insights to learn more about the demographics of your Facebook audience.
This allows you to make adjustments to your target audience in real time by gathering data from those who already follow you.
Insights give you an in-depth analysis on the demographics, psychography, locations, income, and more of your audience.
5. The ability to hide your business ratings
If you don’t want your Facebook fans to be able to see your business rating, you can actually hide it.
To do so, click “edit page” and choose the option to “update page info.”
Then choose “click to edit address.” Then unselect the box that says “show this map on your page.”
6. The ability to rearrange your Facebook business page
Something that you probably didn’t know about Facebook marketing is the ability to reorganize your page.
For example, if your business is not currently taking advantage of any Facebook apps, you probably would want to move that section down towards the bottom of your page and move your Facebook photos up to the top.
To reorganize your Facebook page, move your mouse over to the left sidebar and hover over a section until you see a pencil. Then click on “manage sections.”
A popup box will then appear to allow you to rearrange your sidebar. Once you’re happy with the reorder, click “save” and you’re done.
